Alyssa N. Ronco, a native of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania holds her Bachelor of Music Degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and her Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music. She was awarded a Dean's Merit Scholarship at Oberlin Conservatory and was a NATS finalist in 2001 under the direction of Daune Mahy. She attended Oberlin in Italy in the summers of 2002 and 2003 studying opera scenes, chamber music, Italian language, and was a production assistant for the festival. In the summer of 2005 she attended the Rome Festival singing the role of Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte. At Manhattan School of Music, Ms. Ronco studied with Maitland Peters and was a member of the opera studio where she sang the role of Candace Whitcomb in Steven Paulus' The Village Singer, an ensemble member for Rider's to the Sea, and Grandalpha in Discover Opera! Her professional credits include La Ciesca in Puccini's Buoso's Ghost and Gianni Schicchi with New Jersey Opera, Soprano Solo in Poulenc's Gloria with the Susquehanna Valley Chorale, and Recital performances in Roseto Valfortore, Italy. Ms. Ronco is currently on the faculty of Gateway to the Arts, Garden State Academy of Music, Anita Ehrler's Dance Extensions, and maintains her own home studio in Rutherford, New Jersey. She is currently studying with Sharon Sweet.
Bob is a Chicago native and Indiana University graduate. Bob’s Broadway performing and conducting credits include Cats, Chess, King David, Les Miserables, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Sunset Boulevard. Off Broadway and Regionally , he has been a part of Captains Courageous, Elaborate Lives, Fame, The Fine Line and Violet. He has participated in the National Tours of Candide, Cats, 42nd Street and Les Miserables. In addition to composing Joe’s Ballet, Bob has arranged/transcribed music for Chisty Baron, The Mercer Ellington Orchestra, Aida, The Civil War, Elaborate Lives, Fame, The Fine Line, Hot and Sweet, Juliette, Rosemary Loar, Alice Ripley, Barbara Schottenfeld, The Smithsonian Institution, and various short films, videos, and public service announcements.
Christa is currently enrolled in her final semester at William Paterson University, where she is studying Music Management with a concentration in Voice. At WPU, she has been afforded the opportunity to study under Gateway Co-Founder Karen Born-Cafaro and has been a featured performer in Vocal Master Classes taught by world-renowned sopranos Ashley Putnam, Pamela Kucenic and Carmen Pelton. Recently, Christa was honored to play Cinderella in the debut cast of Disenchanted, an award-winning original musical hosted by WPUNJ’s Theater Department. Prior to attending William Paterson, Christa studied Musical Theater at the Boston Conservatory where she participated in various main stage productions, including Footloose (Rusty), A Chorus Line (Maggie), and Sweeny Todd. While residing in Boston, she was able to grow artistically by taking part in various contemporary “vocal style” workshops at The Berklee College of Music, studying Jazz, Blues and R&B. This past summer, Christa worked with NJPAC’s Summer Youth Performance Workshop, assisting in the disciplines of Voice and Musical Theatre. She has over ten years of classical piano training, and has experience teaching both voice and piano privately with students in the comfort of their own homes. Christa is honored and delighted to join the caliber of teachers at Gateway To The Arts.
Alyssa Stroman started dancing at the age of 6 and has not stopped dancing since. She is a graduate of Montclair State University with her BA in Dance Education. Her training came from various studios and academies including Stars Studio of Performing Arts, Broadway Dance Center, The Rock School and The American College Dance Festival. In high school, she was on the Stardancers competition team. While competing, she has won various awards and scholarships from multiple conventions. She has performed all over the East Coast as a back up dancer for a Pop Star Impersonator. She has also performed annually in Montclair State dance concerts: Works A Foot, Dance Collage and Danceworks, including works from Joao Mauricio Carvalho. Alyssa is a member of Just Dance, a female hip hop group at MSU. She began teaching jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet and lyrical at Stars Studio in Pennsylvania. She also was a Dance and Theatre Counselor for Sesame/Rockwood summer camp. Alyssa is trilled to be teaching Jazz and Contemporary at Gateway to the Arts!
Alex is currently a senior at Boonton High School and has been studying acting, voice and dance at Gateway to the Arts for 5 years. In the summer of 2011, Alex was accepted into the Summer Scholars Institute at Pace University, where he majored in Theater Arts. He has been performing since the age of 4, taking on various lead roles such as Kenickie in Grease, Tony in West Side Story, Man in Chair/Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone, John in Anything Goes, and The Grinch in Christmas In Hollywood. He also acted as Student Director for his high school’s productions of Grease and The Drowsy Chaperone. He plans on attending college in New York City, to major in Acting and minor in Stage Management.
